Ryanair’s pilots are raising serious concerns about the safety of Ryanair flights. Instead of taking the concerns of the professionals charged with making sure passengers are safe, Ryanair has been threatening anyone who speaks publicly about safety concerns with the sack.

This week, Channel 4's Dispatches revealed a shocking survey of Ryanair pilots. The survey showed over two thirds of Ryanair pilots feel unable to raise safety concerns, and an unbelievable 90% of pilots feel that Ryanair’s safety culture isn’t open and transparent. It was also revealed that worryingly Ryanair’s pilots are employed on contracts with few employment rights -- the kind of dodgy contracts used by fast food chains, discount sportswear stores and cleaning firms.

Ryanair and its boss, Michael O’Leary, have gotten away with this arrogant attitude and careless disregard for their passengers for too long. Headline grabbing cost-cutting ideas are one thing, but putting passengers lives at risk is quite another. We need to show them that we won’t stand them cutting corners on passenger safety.
